Monstera Deliciosa is a family of tropical evergreen vines and bushes found in Central America. They’re known for their natural leaf-holes, which makes them another nickname “Swiss Cheese Plant.” The Monstera’s leaf holes are known as fenestrations. The leaves are thought to enhance sun fleck capture on the forest floor by expanding the leaf’s spread while minimizing the bulk of leaf cells to sustain.

Thrives in bright to medium indirect light. Not suited for intense, direct sun but can be acclimated to withstand it. Allow the soil to dry out between watering. Water every 1-2 weeks. Watering should be done more frequently in a better light and less frequently in lower light. Monsteras benefit from filtered water or water that has been let out overnight before use.

Normal room humidity will be enough, however, humid circumstances are preferred if at all possible. To increase the humidity level in your home, consider using a fine-mist mister or humidifier. The houseplants need temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C and 30°C). It’s preferable to keep it above 60°F (15°C). Use a potting mix that drains effectively. To increase soil aeration, add nutrients like perlite or lava rocks as needed.

Monstera Deliciosa is moderately toxic to pets and humans and can cause swelling, vomiting, or burning. It is not pet-friendly.
